THE PROJECT
Turkish Bread Factory situated in the northern suburbs of Victoria offers freshly handmade Turkish bread rolls, pide and pizza bases. It caters to supermarket, cafes, restaurants and bread shops. They recently gained contract with a major supermarket chain tripling the hourly production, therefore a new facility including new equipment was required to meet the increased demand.
Food Hygiene - Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point certification was obligatory for the asset owner, hence it was crucial to have a flooring that meets the strict hygiene, durability, ease of maintenance requirements. Fast turnaround was also equally important as the factory could not afford to delay production.
THE SOLUTION
Nitoflor FC150 HP 100% solid epoxy flooring was the best solution for this project, as it satisfied the asset owner’s requirements. The contractors were able to deliver a finished floor within fast turnaround timeframe. The coating is able to cope with industrial chemical spillage allowing ease of maintenance and durability.
The contractor prepared 1800m² concrete floor by applying Nitomortar 903 and grinding the concrete floor to ensure maximum adhesion of coating. The asset owner didn’t add anti-slip grains as they don’t need a non-skid surface because there was no forklifts or moving machinery in its dry processing plants. Pastel Grey colour was chosen for this project, and this light reflective colour provided a brighter work space.
