Completed in 2022, the interconnected towers at 6 & 8 Parramatta Square became the largest commercial building in Australia, in terms of net lettable area. The vast public domain area outside 6 & 8 Parramatta Square features a concrete substrate, with a basement carpark underneath.
Sure Projects Australia selected Fosroc Polyurea WHE110 to waterproof the area. The experienced applicators had worked with this highly efficient spray-on membrane on many previous projects. They approached Fosroc ANZ to confirm the specification.
Protecting an outdoor area and the carpark underneath
Set to be completed in 2022, the interconnected towers at 6 & 8 Parramatta Square will become the largest commercial building in Australia. Office workers will look out over the public domain to views of Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
The outdoor wet area needed a lasting waterproofing solution to protect the concrete surface and the basement carpark.
The Fosroc ANZ team confirmed Polyurea WHE110 was the ideal solution to withstand the UV and rain exposure, as well as heavy pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Specifying two layers provided an extra-thick barrier to protect the basement.
Ideal for vast areas
Fosroc ANZ Account Manager Tom McHugh worked closely with SPA on the project.“Polyurea WHE110 is a very useful product for protecting a vast area,” he explains. "It was specified on this project for its robust membrane and speed of application."
Polyurea WHE110 is an elastomeric hybrid technology combining polyurea and polyurethane. It is comprised of 100% solids, offering heavy duty waterproofing and a protective coating.
The solution is applied by high pressure spray, which produces a thick but flexible membrane. The coated substrate can be put into service within an hour.
